Celestial STUDIO is now accepting applications for volunteer crew members. Whether you’re interested in working backstage, operating lights, or serving in another behind-the-scenes role, we’d love to discuss having you on the team.

Volunteer Crew Members (ages 16 to college; driver’s license required) will work alongside industry professionals, interact with staff and students and expect their experience to be curated based on their interests, as well as the needs of the production team.
Applicants will be asked to indicate areas of interest, include a résumé listing education and experience, and write statement explaining why they are applying and what they hope to gain.

All positions are volunteer and conclude with letters of recommendation from our Educational Director and/or Producer.
Celestial Theatre is proudly offering volunteer positions to qualified individuals desiring to help create a safe space where students & audiences can experience the transformative power of storytelling. We are seeking self-motivated individuals eager to learn new skills or take a deeper dive into theatrical production.
Applicants must be fully on board for creating and modeling an environment in which all participants (students, staff and crew) are edified, and interact with high moral & ethical character.
Crew are expected to attend every rehearsal and function as backstage crew for performances, no matter the position they hold.
Internships begin a few weeks before the project with pre-production meetings and set-up, which may consist of virtual meetings via Zoom, as well as in-person meetings, depending on the department. Interest in more than one department may be indicated on the application.
Staff & Crew hours include at least an hour on either side of the cast member’s schedule. A detailed Production Calendar will be provided.

Crew Position Descriptions:
Assistant Stage Manager:
ASM may communicate needs of show through rehearsal and performance reports to the Production Stage Manager. ASM may facilitate appointments and see to needs of design team and cast. ASM will report directly to the Stage Manager and Director/Producer.
Scenery and Props:
The majority of time will be spent building set and gathering/constructing props for the show. Scenery and Props will report directly to the Scenic Designer & Technical Director and secondarily to the Volunteer Coordinator/Director.
Costumes:
Costumes will help assist Costume Designer with research, building, organizing and fittings. Costumes will report directly to the Costume Designers and secondarily to the Volunteer Coordinator/Director.
Lighting:
Lighting will report work alongside and report directly to the Technical Director.
Box Office:
Box Office will report directly to the Box Office Manager and secondarily to the Volunteer Coordinator/Director.
